Specialized Diverge 4 Sport Alloy Gravel Bike Description:
The Specialized Diverge 4 Sport Alloy Gravel Bike delivers the capabilities and performance typically found in carbon fiber gravel bikes while coming in at a price point that leaves some money in the pocket for other gear. The backbone of this versatile bike is a durable and smooth riding E5 aluminum alloy frame with a SWAT™ 3.0 Internal Downtube Storage system that is the same design found on Specialized’s Stumpjumper alloy full suspension bike, and this SWAT™system positions tools, tubes, and other goodies low in the frame where it can actually make the bike feel more planted around corners by lowering the center of gravity. Additional rack and accessory mounts are sprinkled throughout the frame and on the fork to give this bike the versatility to be kept light and minimally kitted up for fast group rides and racing, or fully dressed up with racks, panniers, waterbottles, and other bags for adventurous, epic rides to destinations unknown. Up front, a Fact carbon fiber fork with 20mm of Future Shock 3.1 dampened travel takes the sting out of any road or trail, and thanks to the robust crown and thru-axle dropout this fork will keep the bike pointed where the rider intends to go whether the bike is loaded up or not.
Attached to this rock solid base is a reliable Shimano CUES 1×11 speed drivetrain that has precise shifting and plenty of gears for any road or trail the rider takes on, and if things get a bit hairy, powerful Shimano CUES hydraulic disc brakes have confidence inspiring power to bring the bike back under control. Leaving no stone overturned, a shapely handlebar with a subtle flair and grippy Supacaz handlebar tape reduces fatigue and stress on the hands, and Specialized’s Body Geometry Power Sport saddle fights off numbness and has the support needed for some truly epic days in the saddle. Finally, sturdy Axis Elite wheels shod in wide, tubeless-ready Specialized Tracer tires smoothly roll over and grip onto a wide range of trail conditions, rounding out a comfortable exceptionally versatile gravel bike that is ready to take a rider anywhere they want to go.
Features:
- Premium E5 Aluminum frame with SWAT™ 3.0 Internal Downtube Storage (same as found in the Stumpjumper Alloy full suspension bike) is durable, light, and stiff, and has the room to carry tools and a flat kit low in the bike that will actually improve a bikes center of gravity for better handling, and also free up more space in a riders pockets and bike bags/racks to carry other riding essentials
- Future Shock 3.1 equipped fork provides 20mm of well-sealed hydraulically dampened travel to absorb larger impacts and the FACT carbon legs reduce minute vibrations that are transmitted up from the road and trail so the rider will have more energy and control of the bike through the entirety of the bike ride
- Progressive gravel geometry with increased frame reach, slacker head tube, and 5mm increase in chain stay length (vs. previous Diverge models) add up to great stability in the dirt and responsive, nimble handling on the road
- A small section of the drive side chainstay is forged into a beam like shape, then mated to extensively manipulated tubing that creates a smooth ride and allows the ability to fit much larger chainrings and wider tires at the same time
- Accessory, hydration, and rack mounts are sprinkled throughout the bike to ensure there is a plethora of available storage solutions to haul the gear needed to travel anywhere a rider wishes to go
- Shimano CUES 600 series 1x drivetrain offers an easy to operate and reliable drivetrain with a wide gear range for tackling any distance, elevation changes, and trail/weather conditions
- Powerful Shimano CUES hydraulic disc brakes deliver confidence inspiring braking power in any trail and/or weather condition
- Clearance for wider width tires, up to 700x45mm tires with fenders or 700x50mm without fenders (depending on tire and rim combination), which will provide incredible grip, fewer flats, and a supremely comfortable ride
