SRAM 1987 Collection Eagle Transmission Groupset Description:

The SRAM 1987 Collection Eagle Transmission Groupset is an extremely limited edition groupset (only 1,987 groupsets will be available worldwide!) that commemorates SRAM’s dedication to innovation and pushing the performance envelope forward. Not only is this groupset absolutely stunning, it has the performance that can back up those great looks. To start with, the striking forged aluminum crankset is very strong and quite stiff so power is efficiently transferred from the pedals to the rest of the drivetrain, and the inclusion of a low-profile integrated dual-sided power meter within this crankset transmits vital information that will enable a rider to tailor their bike fit, technique, and training so they will perform at their best.

Another groupset component that gets the throwback inspired treatment is the Eagle Transmission 1987 AXS Rear Derailleur, which combines the rugged, stiff pulleys and pulley cage from a XX Eagle Transmission Rear Derailleur with the lightweight body of XX SL Eagle Transmission Rear Derailleur to create a beautiful derailleur with an ideal blend of robustness, shifting precision, and low weight. The rear cassette this derailleur is paired with is 25 grams lighter than SRAM’s XX SL Eagle Transmission cassette and still maintains outstanding shifting performance and durability, and joining these rear components to the crankset is a T-Type Flattop chain that utilizes hollow links, hollow pins, and a hard chrome coating to create a cohesive, lightweight, robust, and ultra-high performance system that will deliver the perfect shift every time.

Two AXS Ultimate Pod Controllers that have the same finish as the rest of the components are included, and these pod controllers can be used to control the shifting, an AXS dropper seatpost, or any other component within the SRAM AXS Environment. There are even two different chainrings (32t & 34t), a Threaded Chainring Removal Tool, two batteries for the derailleur, and a battery charger included with this groupset just to make sure the user is well prepared for all conditions and any trail. Finally, each and every part of this amazing groupset features a stunning silver finish with little details such as the handwriting of Stan Day (founder of SRAM) and a subtle serial number to ensure that this groupset is a fitting tribute to SRAM’s powerful and lasting impact on the cycling industry.
