Salsa Flyway C Rival XPLR AXS Gravel Bike Description:

The Salsa Flyway C Rival XPLR AXS delivers excellent comfort and performance especially over road or trails that are less than perfect. Interior Junction Control Mold Technology is used in the construction of the bike to provide better compaction between the high-modulus carbon fibers, resulting in a lighter and stronger frame; this combination of materials and manufacturing process also has excellent lateral stiffness for better pedaling efficiency and reduces how much buzz is transmitted through the bike so a rider will experience less fatigue throughout the ride. A progressive geometry with a long reach, a short stem, low bottom bracket height, and slacker head tube angle helps to keep the bike pointed in the right direction when experiencing rowdy terrain and/or when the bike is loaded with bikepacking gear, while a steep seat tube angle puts the rider in a powerful position over the pedals. Short, symmetrical dropped chainstays create more chainring and tire clearance while tucking the rear wheel under the rider for better traction and more nimble handling. Adding to the Flyway’s versatility, numerous accessory mounts are sprinkled all over the frame to allow the rider to carry all of the gear and hydration they need for any length ride.

Up front, a Rock Shox Rudy XPLR fork provides 40mm of trail taming suspension, a 12 x 100mm thru-axle that improves torsional stiffness for precise handling, and full-fender mounts to protect the rider and the rest of the bike when riding through sloppy conditions. Precise and reliable shifting is provided courtesy of a SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 1 x 13-speed electronic drivetrain, and consistent all-condition braking power is delivered by SRAM Rival HRD hydraulic disc brakes and 160mm rotors. Rugged WTB wheels are wrapped in smooth rolling Teravail Updraft 700 x 45mm tires, producing a fast and versatile combo that can be confidently taken beyond where the pavement ends. Completing the build are Teravail Feldspar carbon handlebars and Radia Stem, a TransX dropper seatpost, and a WTB Gravelier saddle, all of which complement the durable and versatile nature of the rest of the bike and ensures the rider has everything they need for any grand adventure.
