The Salsa Blackthorn 145 C GX AXS Transmission Mountain Bike does a bit of everything well and rewards a rider for being aggressive. A lightweight, yet robust carbon fiber frame features a balanced all-around geometry with a long, low, and slack front end which creates remarkable stability when going downhill while a short rear triangle adds a nimble, playful nature for taking on more technical stretches; when the trail points uphill, a steep seat tube angle puts the rider in an incredibly efficient and powerful pedaling position, and the stiff lower half of the frame ensures that everything pushed through the pedals goes to the rear wheel. Rear wheel travel is articulated by a Split Pivot suspension design that adds to this bikes overall efficiency by separating braking forces from the suspension action, resulting in outstanding braking and cornering traction throughout the full travel range even if the brakes have been locked up.
