Salsa Blackthorn 145 C All-Mountain Frameset Description:

The Salsa Blackthorn 145 C Frameset is a great canvas for building up a very capable and dreamy all-mountain rig. Featuring a balanced all-around geometry with a long, low, and slack front end, a steep seat tube angle, and short rear triangle, this bike will rip down technical downhills while creating a powerful and efficient seated pedaling position for when it is time to go back up. Everything is constructed out of stiff and stout carbon fiber that will keep the weight in check while making sure everything stays tracking straight and true no matter how gnarly things get. Out back, the split pivot rear suspension design with a progressive spring curve isolates the braking forces from the suspension action which ensures a very supple ride with outstanding cornering and braking traction plus provide the support throughout the suspension stroke to fight off rider fatigue and prevent bottoming out when encountering larger impacts. Finally, thoughtful touches like full length internal cable/hose routing through the frame, a threaded bottom bracket, spots for two bottle cages, an integrated repair kit strap, and the included headset make maintenance a snap and enable this bike to be easily built up and outfitted with a riders favorite parts so they can quickly get out for the first of many epic rides.

• Flip-Chip frame design unlocks different bottom bracket heights, headtube angles, and seat tube angles to fine tune the handling characteristics to suit rider preference, terrain, and/or wheel size
• Highly adjustable Fox Float X Factory rear shock with a piggyback reservoir has great small bump sensitivity and the large air volume swallows bigger impacts for outstanding descending performance
• Molded rubber down tube, seat tube, chainstay, and seatstay guards protect your frame from impacts and abrasion
• Spots for 2 water-bottle cages, integrated repair kit strap, and top tube accessory mounts allow a rider to carry essentials on the bike instead of having to carry it all in a hydration backpack or hip pack
• Internal sleeved cable routing tubing allows the cable housing and hydraulic brake hoses to more easily slide through the frame, simplifying setup and maintenance
• Frame has clearance for up to 29 x 2.5″ tires and will accept a 27.5″ rear wheel for a “Mullet” mixed wheel setup
