The Specialized Eliminator Grid Gravity Radial T7/T9 TLR Mountain Tire capitalizes on the successful tread and compound selection chosen for the original Eliminator Grid Gravity tire, only with a construction redesign intended to reinvent how trail riders experience grip and compliance. Specialized applied Radial casing construction for a “Sweet Spot” in casing performance, leading to lower radial stiffness, preserved lateral stability, and improved ride quality that smooths trails, promoting better control and more speed. Pressure tuning tends to kill compliance as higher PSI settings are applied; Sub-optimized casing angles typically result in less-than-desirable riding experiences. Specialized increased the angle of thread orientation on the Eliminator Grid to achieve the Sweet Spot Ply, amplifying traction and comfort by optimizing tire shape conformity, all while preserving the lateral stiffness employed when hitting hard corners.

Capping this casing uplift is the same dual-density compound construction found on Eliminator Gravity Grid tires; Gripton T7 compound is used down the center of the tire, and a softer, slower rebounding Gripton T9 compound is used on the outside knobs to provide a tenacious grip when railing around corners. As for the tread pattern, it has been optimized for looser terrain. The center of the tire utilizes numerous large tread blocks with squared off edges and siping for an uncanny ability to bite deep into the trail and hang on for dear life. When it is time to turn, the shoulder knobs feature a unique block-in-block design that will create a predictable transition as the bike is leaned into the corners, and when fully onto the outer shoulder knobs, the stiffness of the shoulder knobs and multiple biting edges will latch onto the terrain for the confidence to fully send it down the trail. Finally, these tubeless-ready tires are safe to use on hookless rims and can be run with tire inserts for even more protection against impacts and pinch flats. Simply add tire sealant, install inserts if desired, set the tire pressure, and get ready to blast down the trail faster than ever before.
