To start, the tire engineers at Specialized blended a classic 320 TPI Polyester/Cotton Corespun casing construction with modern, machine-aided manufacturing techniques to create better uniformity in weight and durability along with great road feel and a smooth ride that rivals the best tubular tires. Unlike the difficult process of mounting and taking care of tubular tires, the clincher bead design of this tire makes the installation process, fixing flats, and maintenance very user friendly, proving you can have your cake and eat it too! Seamlessly molded on top of this casing is a dual density Gripton tread compound that provides low rolling resistance, very good tread life, and plenty of cornering grip to give a rider the confidence to use their brakes less when going downhill. Additionally, this tire is tubeless ready (and compatible with hookless style rims) which lets the rider use lower tire pressures for better traction, stability, and protection from pinch flats. Add everything up, and the Specialized Cotton TLR Racing Tire has the comfort, performance, and everything else needed to get a rider consistently on the top of the podium.
