The Shimano PD-R8000 Ultegra SPD-SL Pedal Axle Assembly is a factory replacement component that can be used to replace a damaged and/or worn part. This axle assembly includes everything needed to replace the internals of one pedal, including the axle, bearings, lock nuts, and other miscellaneous hardware. If your pedal is making grinding noises or is not spinning freely, installing this part will restore the performance and prolong the life of the pedal.

Note: The left and right pedal axle have different threading and are not interchangeable; the left axle is designed to fit in the non-driveside crank arm and features left-handed, or reversed, threading (meaning it tightens by being turned to the left or counter-clockwise) to prevent the axle from coming loose when pedaling, and the right side axle tightens when it is turned clock-wise or to the right.
