Schwalbe 700c Aerothan TPU Inner Tube w/ Aluminum Valve Description:

The Schwalbe Aerothan TPU Tube is an evolutionary leap forward in bicycle tube technology. Proudly made in Germany, the TPU material used in the construction of these tubes is a special blend that was developed in collaboration with the plastic experts at BASF, and this material creates a tube with about half the weight of a rubber inner tube along with a significant reduction in rolling resistance. In simple terms, this means that the bike will accelerate up to speed quickly and the rider will be able to maintain that speed more easily, saving energy for a finishing sprint, to charge full steam up a steep climb, or to have enough left in the tank to take the long way home.

Additionally, these tubes have improved pinch and puncture flat prevention compared to butyl rubber inner tubes, and because TPU holds its shape better than rubber if the bike tire’s casing/internal structure gets compromised, this tube construction will reduce the risk of a catastrophic blowout. Last but not least, this version of the Schwalbe 700c Aerothan TPU Inner Tube uses an externally threaded aluminum valve body with a removable valve core that enables this tube to accept valve extenders so these tubes can be used in super deep aero-profile wheels, or the presta valve core can be removed and replaced with a Schwalbe Clik Valve assembly.
