The Forekaster Tubeless Mountain Tire is designed for modern short-travel trail bikes and down-country style riding. The Goldilocks tread pattern rolls fast on hardpack yet delivers grip for days while corning and braking with the taller side knobs. The Forkaster lands squarely in the middle of the Minion and the Rekon for the ultimate blend of the do-everything tire. Run it front or rear or even both, the Forekaster could be considered the dark horse within the Maxxis lineup and should not be overlooked.

Features:

• Optimized tread pattern and performance for use on shorter travel trail bikes (often referred to as “downcountry” mountain bikes)
• Dense tread down the middle with ramped leading edges have lower rolling resistance, all knobs have siping to add biting edges to deliver great grip in less than ideal conditions, and taller side knobs dig into the ground for better braking and cornering bite, creating a great all-around tire design
• Dual: Dual Compound design uses a firmer compound down the middle of the tire for lower rolling resistance, and a softer compound on the outside knobs for increased braking and cornering grip; ideal for dry and/or harder trail conditions
• MaxxTerra: An all-around compound with a medium density compound on top of the knobs in the middle of the tire for better wear resistance and less rolling resistance, and a softer compound capping the shoulder knobs for better braking and cornering grip; all knobs have a hard compound in the middle for better knob support with less tire squirm under load for the ultimate performance with no compromises
• EXO: Lightweight, densely woven material is added to the sidewalls for extra cut and abrasion resistance while maintaining a smooth ride and great tire performance
• EXO+: Same protection as the regular EXO tires, with an added butyl (rubber) insert around the bead of the tire for added pinch flat prevention and for better protection for the rim against harsh impacts
• TR: Tubeless Ready for increased traction and lower rolling resistance (on all models)
• WT: Tires that range from 2.4-2.6″ in width utilize a Wide Trail casing that is optimized for use on rims with an internal width ranging from 30-35mm
• Can be used as both a front or rear tire
